BSK Hyderabad Responds to Pope Francis' Acts of Charity Call in Multiple Telangana Locations in a Single Day

Hyderabad, May. 15. Bosco Seva Kendra [BSK] the Province Planning and Development Office [PDO] of the Salesian Province of St. Joseph Hyderabad [INH], continues to respond actively to the COVID-19 situation. In response to Pope Francis' call for 'acts of charity' during the COVID-19, BSK distributed 10000 facesmasks, 1000 hygiene/health kits and 400 food/nutrition Kits to migrants, bricklayers, children and women at various places in Telangana in a single day.
Survey estimates show that 06 lakh migrant workers from 24 states work in Telangana and nearly 02 lakh people might have crossed state borders to their native places due to COVID-19 and the ensuing lockdown. This single day multiple location distribution drive was in response to address the food, health-hygiene concerns of these distressed people.

Provincial Father Thathireddy VijayaBhasakar, BSK Director Father Bellamkonda Sudhakar, BSK Executive Director Father Parri Sarath, with the BSK Assistant Director, CSOs, volunteers, local coordinators and leaders participated in each location, wherever possible.

The locations were: Nimboliadda, Kachiguda, Saidabad, NTR Nagar, Sai Nagar, Chandrayangutta, Badangipet, Hubdulpurmet, Hayathnagar, Shamshabad, Manchirevula, Gudimalkapur, Kukatpally, Bowenpally, Jawahaarnagar, Naredmet, Boduppal, Moulali, Badichoudi, Ramkoti, Ghatkesar, Kachiguda, Yadadri Dt, Amangal Mandal and Medak Dt.

Father Sudhakar expressed his gratitude to all the international, national, and local benefactors who generously contributed towards the food, hydgien/health and safety kits.
