Golden Jubilee Year - Kristu Jyoti College, Bangaluru

Bangalore, Nov. 1. Kristu Jyoti College inaugurated its Golden Jubilee Year (1967-2017) on 31 October, 2016, in the presence of Archbishop Dominic Jala sdb, Regional Superior of South Asia, Father Maria Arokia Kanaga sdb and Father Joyce sdb, the Provincial of Bangalore. The yearlong Jubilee celebrations of KJC will end in November 2017 in the presence of Rector Major, Father Angel Fernandez sdb.
With a solemn mass, presided over by Archbishop Dominic Jala, began the golden chime at KJC. It was followed by an assembly, where Father Jude Joseph, the Principal officially welcomed the guests and the students. Father Kanaga in his keynote address stressed the need to be creative misfits and servant-leaders in the society and church. He also reminisced the contributions of Kristu Jyoti College both in the society and the Indian Church for the past fifty years. Father Joyce officially declared the Jubilee year open by lighting the Jubilee candle. Bp Dominic Jala inaugurated two new courses that will be introduced in Kristu Jyoti College during the Jubilee Year; a three-year course in BA Philosophy and a three-month course in Pastoral Communication. A variety entertainment by students coloured the jubilee inauguration event.
