Guwahati, Mar. 2. Don Bosco Institute of Management (DBIM), Guwahati, organised 'JourNEi 2015', a special Business School Meet on 28 February 2015, with the aim to reach out to the young entrepreneurs and students from all across the country and provide a platform for creating and evaluating new ventures that have a central focus on the development of the business scenario in the North East India.
JourNEi 2015 with the theme ''Entrepreneurship Through Innovation'' endeavours to bring about an impactful change in the current business scenario in the region by identifying and nurturing new businesses.

The meet was inaugurated by Mrs. Indrani Phukan, HOD Psychology Department, Guwahati University. In her talk she spoke to the young entrepreneurs to do creative action and find in it something that is innovative. She also spoke to the participants regarding the five stages to creative thinking. She wished the participant to think out of the box. ''If we want to be entrepreneur, we have to think out of the box,'' she said. She also said that not all highly intellectual people are creative people, they are only trying to be innovative,' she said. She concluded her inaugural talk by saying, ''anyone can make a change when we have a meaning in life.''

Fr. Johnson Parackal SDB, the Rector and Executive Director of DBIM welcomed the guest. In his welcome speech he said, ''the business world is changing, and today it is changing faster than ever. Equipping yourself for that unpredictable and fast-paced business world is our goal. Our aim is to give you not only skills and knowledge, but also a willingness to embrace fresh ideas, to think in new ways and to respond creatively to the challenges you will face. With this futuristic approach to nurture latent potential and open up newer horizons of collaboration, we're hosting this event titled JouNEi 2015.'' He said.

JourNEi, a Graduate Schools' Meet, is to provide a platform to students from various institutes of higher education across the region and beyond to interact with the academia, the corporate, up-coming entrepreneurs and their peers from other institutes. The main focus of JourNEi is to nurture and promote talent, facilitate peer-to-peer interactions and build healthy competition. Hence, the event plays a vital role in DBIM's commitment to building dreams and shaping lives.

The journey began in October 2010 with the launching of MouiZori, the DBIM business incubation center, by Shri Pradyut Bordoloi, Honorable Minister, Power and Industries, Govt. of Assam.  MouiZori is the only one of its kind in the north-eastern region of India. JourNEi 2015 focuses on the B-Plan event.  The business plan contest aims to reach out to the young entrepreneurs and students from all across the country and provide a platform for creating and evaluating new ventures. In addition, a host of other events like Showcase, Case Study and Mad Ad will allow the participants to rediscover their talents, explore their creativity and put in their best.  Successful events result only from collaborative efforts. The DBIM faculty and students are extremely thankful to all the collaborators and specially the Rector Fr. Johnson Parackal, SDB, for envisaging the student's dream and helping them realize it.

The programme concluded in the evening with the distribution of the prize money and the certificates to all the winners of the various competitions held.
