Shillong, Jun. 1. ''Wonderful are the works of the Lord'' acclaims the Psalmist, and similar are the sentiments of the Novitiate Community at Sunnyside in unison with the Provinces of Silchar [INS] and Guwahati [ING] as 30 Pre-Novices - 13 for the Province of Silchar and 17 for the Province of Guwahati - have been admitted canonically for an year of Novitiate on 29th May, 2013.
The 'Initiation Ceremony' took place during the Holy Eucharistic Celebration presided over by Rev. Fr. George Maliekal, the Provincial of Silchar, with Fr. Paul Olphindro Lyngkot, the Vice-Provincial and a host of other priests as concelebrants.

''We ask to acquire a better knowledge of the Salesian religious life by living with you...'' were the words pronounced by the new batch of Novices as they were formally entrusted by the Provincial into the hands of the Novice Master, Rev. Fr. Philip Barjo, SDB. The Novice Master will be supported by other Salesian staff, viz. Fr. Felix Dkhar, Asst. Director of Novices, Fr. John Mathew, the Administrator, and Br. John Paul, the Assistant.

Concluding the ceremony the Provincial invited every one to continue to support them through their prayers and to entrust them to the care of the Blessed Mother and St. John Bosco who shall help them to consecrate themselves to Christ.
