St. Anthony's School, Shillong Gears Up to ''Make it Happen'' in 2013 By Fr. Babu StephenShillong, Feb. 17. St. Anthony's Higher Secondary School inaugurated its new scholastic year on 14th February 2013. The Inaugural programme began at 10.00 am with the ushering in of the Chief Guest Rev. Fr. George Maliekal SDB, the Salesian Provincial of Silchar Province and other invited guests and dignitaries from different schools and colleges.
Mr. S. Chyne, set the stage for the day's function with a brief introduction about the academic year 2013. Thereafter, Mr. J. Gomes read the Holy Scripture highlighting the importance of a good shephered and Ms. Euginia Khryem led the beaming assembly into prayer. What followed was the traditional lighting of the lamp, by the Chief Guest and others representatives.
Stepping into the clean and spacious portals of St. Anthony's Higher Secondary school, on the bright and sunny morning of 14th February 2013 one could sense the euphoria among the students, teachers, parents and guardians - the thrill and excitement of a new beginning with lot of expectations, dreams and hopes.
In the words of welcome, Fr. Principal, Fr. Bernard Pala presented before the assembly the theme for the year ''Make it Happen''. He exhorted everyone to play his/her part in making things happen and not wait for things to happen. He encouraged every one to make extra efforts to stand together, work together, grow together, win together, learn together and celebrate together. ''This is how we make it happen'' he said.
The principal announced the new class teachers and supervisors for the year and welcomed the new staff to the school. The chief Guest gave away the attendance register and log book to the class-teachers and to the subject teachers.
In his message, the Chief Guest Rev. Fr. George Maliekal SDB, stressed on the theme for the year ''Make it Happen.'' He invited everyone in the school to make this their motto throughout the year. He thanked the school team for the wonderful way in which the school programmes are being carried out in the school and for their dedicated service to the institution. He wished everyone best of luck for a promising and fruitful year ahead.
Fr. Babu Stephen SDB, the vice-principal thanked each and everyone for their contribution towards the realization of day's function.
