Kolkata, Nov. 23. A two day meeting of all the practical trainees of the province of Kolkata was held at Nazareth Bhavan, Siliguri from November 18-20, 2011. It coincided with the tri-monthly recollection and the feast of Christ the King.  The events took place in the green environment of Siliguri with a strong 'Go Green' signal from Fr. John Bourk SJ.
The practical trainees' meeting began with the Holy Eucharist presided over by Fr. Thomas Ellicherail, Provincial. Fourteen young clerics from the different communities of the province were present. Fr. Jose Pampadiyil the vice provincial and the delegate of formation commission animated the sessions. The meeting was also an occasion for sharing of experiences on Salesian assistance in the communities.

On November 19, a tri-monthly recollection along with the confreres of Sikkim was organised. The recollection was preached by the veteran Jesuit missionary Fr. John Bourk, who dwelt on ''Go Green - Eco-spirituality''-  a recent trend, linking spirituality and the environment. He pointed out the spiritual role religions need to play while living in the house of God, who pitched His tent among us, is to be stewards of His creation.

On Sunday 20, the Eucharist  presided over by Fr. Provincial, on the occasion of the Solemnity of Christ the King, in Don Bosco Shrinewas followed by a solemn Eucharistic procession.

Later,  Fr. Jose highlighted the role of Salesian assistance in developing rapport skills among the young, in the Don Bosco way. The day culminated in a festive tea along with the novices.
