Lively welcome for the relic at Pallikonda Chennai, Nov. 14. Chennai 14 November 2011: The relic of Don Bosco reached the Little Flower convent, Pallikonda, this noon. The Salesian sisters, teachers, co-operators and students offered a grand welcome. It was indeed a moving sight to see the sisters gathered around the relic to renew their commitment.
The little town of Pallikonda woke up to the sound of firecrackers as the vehicle carrying the relic entered the twon bus stand. The Salesian sisters had been in this place from the 1930s and hence Don Bosco is known to all in this region. The Sisters, teachers, school children, co-operators and the parishners all gathered with flags and balloons to welcome the relic of the saint. Little children dressed up like Don Bosco, Mary Mazarello, Dominic Savio and Laura Vicuna caught the attention of people who gathered all along the route to witness the welcome ceremony. As the school band played hymns in honour of Don Bosco, the procession slowly reached the campus, passing via the Parish Church.
