The relics of Don Bosco left for Sirsi at 6:30 am from Fatorda, Goa. The salesians along with the past pupils once again formed a motorcade to escort the relics out of the state. At the first stopover, at the Goa-Karnataka border, the relics were symbolically handed over by Fr Kinley D'cruz to Fr Kimrold D'Mello. Prominent dignitaries of the diocese of Karwar were present at the simple yet solemn reception.
On arrival to the little town of Sirsi, the relics were welcomed by young children on either side of the road with colourful attires and a brass band. The relics were then taken to the chapel of St. John Bosco were it was again welcomed to melodies performed by the band. The welcome ceremony was followed by the inaugural Eucharistic Celebration.
Later in the afternoon there was praise and worship carried out at the chapel by the locals in local dialect, followed by adoration. Confessions were available for all the pilgrims. Later in the evening projectors were put up and different videos on Don Bosco's life and relic were shown to the crowd. Veneration was open till 9pm.
