Panjim, Aug. 22. The relic set off on its journey leaving the capital city, Panjim to the port town of Vasco.
The relic set off on its journey leaving the capital city, Panjim to the port town of Vasco. The closing prayer was recited by Fr Ian Figueiredo - Provincial of INP, soon after the solemn Eucharist. The motorcade that followed left the campus at 11am. Panjimites were surely sad to see their dear saint go, but definitely they had many blessing to thank for as the relic was placed here for the longest duration of time than any other venue in the province. Their contribution did not end here as they joined the motorcade that reached Vasco at 12 pm. The relic was greeted by a band playing at the entrance of St. Andrews church, Vasco. Pilgrims gathered in large numbers to venerate the relics of Don Bosco. The past pupils unit present in Vasco officially welecomed the relics. Fr Romolo Naronha, delegate of the past pupil association, addressed the gathering, he spoke about the life of Don Bosco in brief and welcomed the gathering to the veneration. The parish priest of St. Andrew's Church, Fr Jose Anton D'Costa addressed the gathering and mentioned how privileged they are to have Don Bosco in their midst. The provincial was also present for the occasion.
The relic was then kept for veneration for the public for two hours. A final prayer was said by Fr Romulo Noronha. The relic left St Andrews church, Vasco at 2.45pm in a motorcade to Don Bosco College of Engineering, Fatorda where the relic was welcomed by Fr Kinley D'cruz (Rector).
