Night Becomes Day as DB Relic visits Konkan

Panjim, Aug. 17. Finally the long awaited and much prepared for day arrived. After the Don Bosco Birthday celebrations in Mumbai, the Relic arrived by road to the Salesian Province of Panjim-Konkan(INP). The relic was solemnly welcomed along with police escort and the provincial vehicles to the Auxilium Girls Promotion centre, Rambambuli, just  forlongs away from the Don Bosco School, Oros, where it will be placed for the next two days.
Sr Teresa Plathra fma (superior of Auxilium), Fr Richard D'Silva (Rector), Fr Lino Lopes sdb (Principal Don Bosco School), Fr Thomas (Provincial of MST Congregation) along with the girls and boys of the neighbouring Salesian presences waited in eagerness till 1.40am. Sr Sera Menezes fma and Fr Sim�Fernandes sdb lead the gathering in prayer beginning these moments of grace to the province of Panjim-Konkan. Even though is was just moments past midnight, the light of Don Bosco had shone brighter with the presence of his holy relics.
The Solemn procession to the Salesian school from the FMA centre began at 9.00 am where local dignitaries and diocesan and religious priests joined in the function. The Inaugural Eucharist the followed was celebrated by Bishop Allwyn Barretto, and concelebrated by Fr Provincial and the local Salesians and clergy.
