THE DEAF AND THE DUMB CHILDREN OF TRIPURA AROUND DON BOSCO

Guwahati, Jun. 17. Agartala, June 16, 2011: It was very moving to see the 35 all deaf and dumb children of Ferrando Institute for the differently abled children coming and touching the sacred relic of St. John Bosco, to spend time in prayer with him. It was a sacred moment between them and Don Bosco. He who loved children, was always on the look out to help the young whoever they were.
Established in 2004 as a community of the Missionary Sisters of Mary Help of Christians (MSMHC), for taking care of the differently abled children Ferrando Institute, Agartala, has been rendering a yomen service in this sector. ''The children in the school are prepared to face the fast developing world with computer education, as well as formal education, so that they can be employed in which ever capacity possible'' said Sr. Shalini, herself specially trained in training children with disabilities. ''Though differently abled they are a treasure house of talents and skills, which are to be discovered and developed'' she said. The specially trained sisters who live in the community here are a source of inspiration to the children and example for them to develop into fully mature human persons who can stand on their own.
