The South Asia Region of the Salesians of Don Bosco is awaiting an exceptional period of grace with two important animation programmes. Both are being held in Bangalore. The first is a spiritual retreat preached by Rev Fr Pascual Chavez (Rector Major of the Salesians). The retreat is being held at MAITREYA on the Bannerghatta Road , from Feb 23 -28. The 100 participants include the eleven Salesian provincials of South Asia along with their councils, some Salesian novice masters of the region and members of the secretariat of the Salesian Provincials' Conference of South Asia (SPCSA). The second is a Team Visit by the Rector Major and four of his Council members -Fr Adriano Bregolin (Vicar General), Fr Klement Vaclav (Councillor for Salesian Missions), Fr Fabio Attard (Councillor for Youth Pastoral), and Rev Fr Kanaga Maria Arokiam (Regional Councillor for South Asia) - interacting with the Provincials and their councils and members of the SPCSA secretariat. It is being held at NBCLC from March 01-05. Matters urgent and relevant for the consolidation of Salesian life and apostolate in South Asia constitute the agenda of these days of reflection and discussion. A public reception is being accorded to the dignitaries at NBCLC on February 28 at 06.30 p.m. It is hoped that these events will go a long way in renewing the living of Salesian charism in the sub-continent and in accelerating the preparation for a fruitful celebration of the bicentenary of the birth of Don Bosco in 2015, in view of which the casket of Don Bosco has already been on a world tour these years.
