Schneider Electric Foundation - the social commitment arm of Schneider Electric and Don Bosco Institute, Nepal, committed to the poor young people in the Kathmandu valley, has launched a Centre of Excellence at Lalitpur, Nepal. Honourable Minister of Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation Nepal, Pampha Bhusal, inaugurated the centre with French Ambassador-designate Gilles Bourbao present. With State-of-the-art equipment and facilities, the centre will provide vocational training and skill development to around 1000 youth over the next five years in home and building installation, basic automation, home automation, safe and secure building operations, industrial installations controls and drives.. Don Bosco Kurla hosted the Maharashtra State Skill Competition 2021 from September 3 to 5, 2021. The competitions were held to select candidates from India for the 46th WorldSkills Competition from October 12-17, 2022, in Shanghai, China. Don Bosco roamed around the streets because youngsters were there. He learnt magic because that pulled the attention of the young of his time. He learnt various trades to equip them. Today, digital media is where most youngsters habituate. Hence, it is no more an option for Salesian youth animators to be there. Knowing the importance of presence in the digital media, the Salesian Province of Tiruchy (INT) organized a day of animation for the media persons of the communities on August 21, 2021, at DB Alaihal Media, Manikandam, Tamil Nadu, the communication centre of the Province.
