Yercaud, India (INT): The two prestigious and people centred organizations: Shevaroyhills Tribal Development Institute (STDi) a wing of SPS INDIA FOUNDATION, The Retreat - Don Bosco, Yercaud and Jugend Eine Welt (JEW) inaugurated their Project CALLS 2.0 (COVID19 Alternative Livelihood and Living Services). This is their second intervention during the time of COVID19 to give alternative livelihood for the tribals of Yercaud. Speaking on ''Empowering the Young to lead Movements'' he invited SYM animators and leaders to ''Listen to the dreams of the young and enable them to live their dreams and passions.'' The challenge thrown to the 16 participants representing the provinces of South Asia was, ''What is the non-negotiable rule of your presence? On 05 August, on the Foundation Day of the Salesian Province of Tiruchy, 'Retreat-Don Bosco' Yercaud completed the 21-day training course in Nursery and Nature Preservation 'Project CALLS' supported by Jugend Eine Welt of Austria and Don Bosco Network South Asia. Through this programme, people got to Learn-Work-Earn their livelihood.
Yercaud being a hill station, people earn their living through tourism and the travel industry. With the lockdown continuously extended, the people, especially in the hill-station left with nothing to survive, managed to learn, work and earn through the Shevaroyhills Tribal Development Institute [STDi]. .
