Shillong, Sep. 2. Don Bosco Media Network, Shillong, made another beaming leap by launching its Cable TV Channel on its first anniversary. DBMN started on YouTube Channel a year ago to provide hope to society and ensure factual reporting and positivity. Father Michael Makri, Director of Don Bosco Media Network, attributed the rapid development of the DBMN to God Almighty and the unstinted support of the Salesian Congregation.
Speaking at the launch, Father Paul O. Lyngkot, Provincial of Shillong Province, said, man should communicate with his Creator at all times. While referring to the founder of the Salesian Congregation, he said, Don Bosco as the friend of the youth, would ask them to be in communication with their Creator in times of happiness and tribulation. Father Michael Makri narrated the genesis of the DBMN.

While delivering the history of DBMN, Abiegail Kharmylliem said the idea of starting the channel was to combat negative news reporting especially, on the devastating effect caused by the Coronavirus during the pandemic. The channel also had other programmes. The first episode of 'Ka Jingpynshai' was live-streamed on the YouTube Channel on October 23, last year. The Network also hosted different programmes of youth; Ka Kynta ki Samla invited youth to showcase their inspirational journey. Monalisa Rymbai's melodious song, ''Grace'', reflected God's unfailing love for the frail humanity.

The glittering launch programme graced by the Provincial of the Salesian Province, Shillong, Father Paul O. Lyngkot, had Father Jeevan Lakra, Rector of Salesian Training Centre, Shillong, Father Daniel Davidlang Cajee, Secretary of the Province, Father Michael Makri, Director of Don Bosco Media Network, Francis A. Khongwar, journalist, Andreas N. War, the proprietor of Lelangki Cable Network and Massar, Technician.

The programme, chaired by Davida Paswett, News Editor of Don Bosco Media Network, had the live streaming assisted by Aldrin Marwein and Dipika Lyngdoh through Leilangki Cable Network.
