Chennai, Jan. 20. The Executive Committee of the Senior (Old) Bedean Association (Past pupils of St. Bede's) reached out to 100 poor families in 10 zones in and around Chennai supplying them with provisions and clothing. The pandemic situation has helped the Bedeans to go in search of persons in different localities as against they coming to the campus as in the previous years.
In collaboration with the OBA (Old Bedean Association) and its primary benefactors The Melbourne Chapter and Mr. Praveen Memorial Fund, the Batch of 1982 and other like-minded old Bedeans, old boarders of St. Bede's, and the school helped 100 poor families with provisions and clothing.

The team of OBA conducted sharing camps on 21st, 22nd and 23rd December, centred at various places in North Chennai (Don Bosco Shrine - Ayanavaram, Our Lady of Lourde's Shrine - Perambur, Francis Xavier's Church - Broadway, Royapuram, Washermanpet, Tondiarpet, Thiruvottiyur and Ennore), South Chennai (St.Thomas Mount, Velachery) and Central Chennai (School Campus).

St. Bede's Anglo Indian Higher Secondary School is facing the Bay of Bengal on the shores of Chennai, beside the great Marina Beach. It has a century old history and known for its charitable works. It's an annual feature in the academic calendar of the school to reach out to the poorest, especially during festivals.

The School Correspondent, Father Stanley Ignatius, and the Headmaster, Father Stephen Joseph appreciated Mr.Stafford Mantel and his team who dared the pandemic situation for a noble cause. Mr. Ravikumar, one of the beneficiaries from Santhome said: ''It was just in time that this help reached my family, especially during this festival of Christmas.''
