Achievements: SIGA is ranked 6th place among 214 polytechnic colleges of Tamil Nadu. Thanks to the first year students of 2003-2004 batch who bagged this prestigious rank and brought honor to the college.

Tsunami Help: SIGA has joined Don Bosco Group of institution - Tamil Nadu in their project towards Tsunami Relief, Rehabilitation and Reconstruction works. Towards this common venture, SIGA has raised local funds from its managment, staff and students and forwarded them to our regional headquarters, The Provincial Office, Chennai.

Apart from raising funds, SIGA also printed thousands of various kinds of notebook to be freely distributed to the affected students in the Tsunami hit areas. On 26th February, 2004 SIGA Salesian community went to Pondicherry and Kalpakkam to be with the poor youth and to distribute the notebooks to those Tsunami affected children.
Thanks to the friends and benefactors from Italy for arranging financial help worth Rs.5 lakhs towards 10 families of SIGA students affected by the Tsunami tragedy. This aid would help these families to procure boats and nets etc., to sustain family income and to continue the college education.

The whole project costs around 15 lakhs of rupees. Thanks to the Italian benefactors and friends of Bro.Santi, the Manager who made this sharing possible.
