The old and dilapidated DON BOSCO INDOOR STADIUM at Sacred Heart College, Tirupattur, has been renovated. It sports a very good look and is functional. For those of you who know the old structure, we have done the following works: The front elevation has been strengthened with pillars, a small portico and a new walkway. The roof has been changed to metal sheets. The pillars are new, with new foundations. The floor is new with shahabad stones. A balcony has been added at the back of the stadium. The stage has been enlarged and two large side rooms have been added. A false roof is set up with proper lightings and fans. The sound system is new. Two verandas on the outside of the structure have been added. 4 toilets at the back have been built for the public.

The Stadium will now severak purposes:

It will serve as the auditorium for the college. The smaller one can contain only 700 participants, while the present one can contain nearly 2000. The strength of the college, with the staff is about 2500.
It will serve as the examination hall. About 800 boys will write examinations at the same time in the hall.
It will also be used for smaller indoor games such as shuttle and table-tennis.
It will also serve nearby academic institutions for their large functions
It will host the platinum jubilee celebration of the Province in 2009, when the Rector Major will be present.


Rev. Fr. Provincial, Fr. Stanislaus Swamikkannu SDB blessed it and inaugurated it on 9th February 2008. The following day, Sunday, 10th February, we had a solemn mass in it with all the children of the nearby institutions. It is a worthy facility to the growing Sacred Heart College.
