Children`s Day at Don Bosco Vaduthala, Cochin, Kerala
Don Bosco Vaduthala witnessed a very grant celebration of the Children`s day this year. The children`s day celebrations started with the celebration in the school. The Don Bosco Junior School Celebrated the day on 13th morning. At 09:00 the programme was inaugurated by Rev. Fr. Devassy Chirackel SDB, the Rector and Principal. The gathering was indeed very special with the arrival of the Chachaji, Master Akhil Tom. Rev. Fr. Sebastian Ottaplackal SDB, The head master welcomed the gathering. Rev. Fr. Babu Manisery, the Vice Principal and Administrator felicitated the gathering. The formal inaugural function was followed by the various cultural programmes performed both by the students and the teachers. The day was made doubly colorful with the Fancy Dress competition of the K G Section.

Don Bosco Senior Secondary School Vaduthala celebrated the children`s day on 13th Nov 2009 at 01:00PM. The gathering was inaugurated by Mr. Binoy John, famous Malayalam Script Writer and Composer. In his inaugural address, he exhorted the children to grow as upright citizens and god fearing children. Rev. Fr. Babu Manissery welcomed the gathering and Rev. Fr. Devassy Chirackal presided over the same. All the children were indeed happy to witness the arrival off the Chachaji, Master Priyan Vijay. The formal inauguration was followed by the prize distribution where the students who received first prize for the youth festival were awarded with certificates and trophies. After the inaugural gathering there were the various programmes performed by the students and teachers.

The grant celebrations of the children`s day in the Don Bosco Youth Centre started with the Pallet Pals painting competition organized in the Children`s Park Ernakulam on 15th Sunday 2009. The competition was inaugurated by Rev. Fr. Joffie Puthuva the director of the youth centre. The competition began at 10:30 AM. This was indeed one of the well attended programmes where several children exhibited their talents. All those who participated were given prizes.

The second episode of the children`s day at the youth centre was at 02:30 the same day when around 400 children gathered together for the painting competition organized in the youth centre hall. So much so the judges found it pretty hard to make the judgments as all the contestants were fighting shoulder to shoulder.

On the same day Don Bosco Vaduthala witnessed yet another mega event, KID`S EVE `09. the Twelfth Kid`s Eve` 09, this year was celebrated with more elegance and grandeur, owing a lot to the praise worthy efforts of Br. Josh Kanjooparmbil SDB and the Inters group of the youth centre. In the evening Sonu- Monu (the twin cine artists, the ANNANTHAMBI fame) inaugurated the Kids` Eve. Rev. Fr. Joffie Puthuva presided over the function. After the inauguration there was the smiling competition which was attended by over 200 children in fuor categories. From among the winners of each category, the Baby Kind`09 and the Baby Queen`09 were selected. At the end of the programme Rev. Br. Philip Vakkaparmbil gave away the prizes. Our hearty congratulations to the painstaking efforts of Br. Josh and his team.
