Chennai, Oct. 25. While there is a growing desire among the lay Christians for the Word of God, the members of the`Select Group` (Priests & Religious) are losing themselves away in a world without God.

All of us priests and religious have a very strong conviction about the central role the Word of God plays in our lives; but often this passion remains only at the head level and is never translated into concrete & tangible practices. We may perhaps take it for granted, that having done a lot of studies and paper works on the various books of the Holy Bible, we have had enough of it.

The ongoing Synod on the Word of God at Rome definitely poses challenges to different categories of peoples; but it is the Religious and the Priests who are to be the striking models in living up those challenges. May not lame excuses and justifications weigh us down to a fruitless existence. A true love for the Word of God will locate us in a world of God.
