Lend your ear to your stressed child

The next time your child complains of a stomachache or headache do not get panic, he or she may not need pills or doctor to get out of pain rather they may need you, to lend your ear to them. Your may need to sit and have a heart to heart talk with your child, for he or she might be suffering from stress. Today the mounting levels of academic and career pressure are blamed for stress in children, youth and even married persons. The joint family system helped the children to have elders to lend an ear to their grievances but this is missing today and the loss is great. And all the more today the cell phone usage also contributes to making the children introverted. When we find symptoms like withdrawal, unhappiness and poor performance in study or in job they need immediate attention. Either the parents or a counselor should attend immediate. Let us lend our ears to our dear once and make them stress less.
