Former Nagaland Assembly Speaker graces foundation day of BCTE

Dimapur, Mar. 15. Former Nagaland Legislative Assembly Speaker and Secretary General NCP North East, Neiba Ndang was the Chief Guest for the 8th Foundation Day Celebrations of Bosco College of Teacher Education (BCTE), Dimapur, on 13 March.

Fr. Sabu Muthirakalam, Principal, in his introductory words, welcomed Mr. Neiga Ndang, Chief Guest, Fr. Nestor Guria, Guest of Honour, other guests, invitees and all those present for the occasion.

Speaking during the cultural programme, the Chief Guest said that the existence of humans and training of human mind would be fruitless without education. Education dispels ignorance and boosts moral values. He pointed out that through education one becomes responsible and informed citizen which is essential for sustaining democracy and eradicating poverty and making people more productive. Education was the only wealth that cannot be robbed and was the key to bring about changes in the society, he further noted.

Addressing, the teacher trainees, the former minister said that teachers play a very vital role in imparting education, in especially laying proper foundation and inculcating proper values in the students. He requested the teachers to be sincere, honest and committed to their profession. Neiba also emphasized in being adequately equipped to deal with the challenges of modern education. He congratulated the staff and the students of the college, for being one among the best B.Ed colleges in the state and also acknowledged the contribution of Catholic educational institutions in the field of quality education.

Fr. Nestor Guria, Vice Provincial, who has the guest of honour commended the staff o the collage for their effort in educational activities. He appreciated the college rich mixture of students from different tribes, communities, religious denominations etc.

It may be noted that there are a hundred students in current academic year.
