5 say `yes` for life at Tuem, Goa
By Ralin De Souza
Konkan, May. 27. Five Clerics - Francisco Britto, Jason Pinto, Kiran Nazareth, Marvin Vaz and Austin Fernandes - made their perpetual vows into the Salesian society INP)atop the hill parish church of Mount Don Bosco, Tuem on May 25, 2012.

After week-long retreat in preparation for this life-long commitment the five confreres came as a sure boost to the salesian mission in the province, which in its last chapter has made a clear focus for vocations. The Parish of St. Francis Xavier, Tuem is the only Parish in the Archdiocese of Goa and Daman that is entrusted to the Salesians of Don Bosco. Situated in the Northern-most district of Goa - Pernem, it began as a humble parish with a small diminishing school. After a decade of salesian presence, it is now a vibrant parish, with a school (I-X), and already three vocations from the locality. The local parish choir enlivened the singing in Konkani, in a well participated Eucharist by the various members of the Salesian Family.
Recall the sentiments of prophet Isaiah, the Provincial Fr Ian Figueiredo invited the clerics to trust in a God who calls and guides them. After the eucharist followed a modest celebration hosted by the community of Tuem, for family and Salesian family members.
