DBYA National Team animates Leaders of Communities

Dimapur, Oct. 8. The DBYA National Team was in Dimapur Province to animate the Rectors, Parish Priests and In-charges on Salesian Youth Ministry on 8 Octobter at Don Bosco Provincial House, Dimapur. They basically dealt with ``WHAT` ``HOW`` and ``WHERE`` of Salesian Youth Ministry. There were 53 participants.

The ``WHAT`` of Youth Ministry was dealt with by Fr. Maria Charles, South Asian Delegate for DBYA and Coordinator for Education & Culture for South Asia. He made a brief presentation on a Model of Salesian Youth Ministry, inviting the participants to better understanding of the concepts and functioning of the Salesian Youth Ministry so as to realize it in every Salesian setting with all its dimensions.
Fr. Joe Arimpoor, South Asian Delegate for Groups and Movements focused on the `HOW` of Youth Ministry. He emphasized on the participatory and communitarian styles of management. ``Involvement and collaboration brings about commitment and ownership in ministry,`` he pointed out. Wholistic approach and planning mentality are basic in Youth ministry for a Salesian, he further noted. He also explained the role and functions of the various commissions, citing the Oracle of Delphi.
The ``WHERE`` of Salesian Youth Ministry was dealt with by Fr. Raphael Jayapalan, South Asian Coordinator for Evangelization and Catechesis. While emphasizing the importance of destination in Salesian Youth Ministry, he exhorted the participants to dream big and realize those dreams.
In the afternoon and evening sessions matters concerning the province were discussed. Both the sessions were jointly chaired by Fr. James Poonthuruthil, Provincial, and Fr. Nestor Guria, Vice Provincial.
